Why Milestones, Not Dates
Our Launch Framework
Fire Innovations is a regulated fintech company that integrates stablecoin transactions, blockchain functionality payment card distribution, KYC/KYB identity verification, and banking rails (ACH/Wire). Each of these systems involves external regulatory bodies, partners, vendors, and compliance reviews with timelines we do not fully control.
Committing to a calendar dates before these dependencies are defined and resolved has created the wrong expectation. However, existential risk would come from launching our various products without proper legal opinions, licensing, security audits, or banking integrations exposes the company to regulatory action, partner termination, and reputational damage.
Instead, we will shift to using a milestone-based launch framework: each phase has clear "done" criteria that must be satisfied before advancing. This approach reflects industry best practices for regulated fintech launches.
Progress against these milestones is shared transparently through this portal and regular stakeholder updates.
The bottom line: we're building a regulated financial product with a lean team, limited capital, and no room for wasted effort. Every milestone, every hire, every dollar of spend is evaluated against one question: does this get us closer to a product in market that generates revenue, serves customers, and keeps users within our ecosystem, without adding unnecessary dependencies, requiring significant additional development or headcount, or drastically extending our timeline to market? If the answer isn't clearly yes, we don't do it.
